The Women's team pulled off a upset of #8 UNC at the ITA Indoor Championships at Charlottesville VA., after losing a close doubles point then taking 4 of 5 singles matches. This was a big step for the #16 USC women's team since they haven't beat a top 10 team in sometime. Junior Danielle Lao clinched the match with a 5-7, 7-5, 6-4 three set victory, next up is #17 Tennessee today.
The Mens team beat #12 Pepperdine 6-1 with Senior Steve Johnson leading the way with a 6-3, 6-2 over 21st ranked Sebastian Fanselow, followed by freshman Yannick Hanfmann and clinched by Ray Sarmiento's 7-5, 6-1 over #49 Mousheg Hovhannisyan.
Lead by Sabrina Santamaria USC women take down #17 Tennessee 4-1 after losing the doubles point and winning at 2 thru 5 singles. Gabriella DeSimone finishing off the Vols and USC will face Crosstown Rival Ucla in the Semi finals tomorrow.
