Talking Points: Debating the Pac-12 coach rankings

Our UCLA and USC reporters break down their rankings of the Pac-12 coaches in the latest edition of ?Talking Points.?

How good of a coach is Rick Neuheisel? Is Steve Sarkisian really better than Lane Kiffin? Are Oregon's Chip Kelly and Utah's Kyle Whittingham underrated or overrated?

First we ranked the Pac-12 coaches. Now we walk you through our thought process regarding the biggest questions, the biggest of which being: Who is on the hot seat?

One of us ranks Oregon State's Mike Riley as the best coach in the Pac-12. The other has Oregon's Chip Kelly. Click through the photos as we debate that topic and others in 'Talking Points.'

The truth is that football is a huge business in college, and winning is crucial to staying on the job. Amazing isn't it, college football requires results, while politicians can fail and fail and fail and still get reelected, but that is another story.

So when one goes to the Rose Bowl and the seats are empty because the team isn't doing well the costs to the school are huge in lost revenue.

At SC, the same level of expectations exists, but tempered because of the post season ban which will soon be lifted

At other schools, where the competition for entertainment isn't so severe, a coach might get more of a break.
