PAUL RODRIGUEZ, THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

BY ERIN KIM, KYLE FITZGERALD AND PETER FIORENTINO / THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

By now, most sports fans have seen Abby Wambach's dramatic goal that helped the U.S. beat Brazil in the Women's World Cup on Sunday.

It was a great example of an athlete coming through in "the clutch." (If you aren't familiar with the term, think of "the clutch" as the most intense, most important, most dramatic time in a game or season.)

Wambach's performance got us thinking about other great performances in "the clutch," and we put together this list of the Top 25 clutch Performances from the past 25 years. (So you won't find the 1980 U.S. Olympic team on this list.)

We also limited our selections to U.S. sports.

Click through the slide show to see our choices then let us know if you think we hit a home run or struck out ... in the clutch.
